Assassin's Creed Black Flag Remake Hints Emerge
Rumors of an Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake have been swirling for a while now, and recent events only seem to fuel the speculation. A collectible statue maker, PureArts, recently hinted at a major announcement related to the game during a livestream showcasing their new Assassin's Creed merchandise. Notably, a statue of Edward Kenway, the protagonist of Black Flag, was absent from the lineup.
When questioned about Kenway's omission, representatives from PureArts cryptically alluded to an upcoming project, stating that "something is going on" with the character and that a new Edward Kenway statue will "reflect" this.
More Than Just a Remaster?
While nothing is confirmed yet, speculation suggests this "something" is indeed the long-awaited remake. Previous reports indicated that Ubisoft Singapore, the studio behind Skull and Bones (itself initially a Black Flag spin-off), is developing the project. Fans anticipate the remake to feature enhanced visuals, comparable to the recent Assassin's Creed Mirage, improved wildlife, and expanded combat systems, making it much more than a simple graphical update.
The timing also seems right. With no new Assassin's Creed title slated for release later this year, a Black Flag remake could easily fill the gap, arriving just in time for the holiday season. This would give Ubisoft an opportunity to capitalize on the continued popularity of the series and satisfy fans eagerly awaiting a return to the Golden Age of Piracy.
