Assassin's Creed Shadows: Claws of Awaji DLC Release Date and New Game Plus!
Hey everyone! Just got the latest intel on Assassin's Creed Shadows, and it's looking pretty sweet. Ubisoft has dropped a roadmap, and there's a lot to unpack. First off, mark your calendars: the Claws of Awaji expansion is hitting on September 16th. If you pre-ordered, you're in luck – it's free! For the rest of us, it's paid DLC, but from what I'm hearing, it sounds totally worth it.
This expansion isn't just a small add-on; we're talking a new region to explore, fresh weapons and abilities to master, and of course, killer outfits and legendary gear to snag. Plus, a whole new enemy faction and some challenging bosses are being added to the mix. And the best part? It's supposed to add over 10 hours of gameplay! I’m really excited to dive into a new chapter of the story and see what challenges await.
New Game Plus and Quality of Life Updates
But wait, there's more! For those itching for a replay, a New Game Plus mode is dropping next week, on July 29th. This will surely add replayability to the game, because everyone loves getting those achievements and trophies, right? Also, the team is working on some quality of life updates. PC players, rejoice, because uncapped framerates during cutscenes are coming and we can fast-forward the time of day.
There was also a bit of confusion about "unfogging" the world map. Turns out, it means that once you sync all viewpoints in a region, the fog completely lifts, letting you focus on where you want to go. I mean, it's a nice touch, especially for completionists like me who want to see every inch of the map.
Ubisoft also mentioned that Assassin's Creed Shadows has welcomed five million players. That’s insane! And those players have racked up some impressive stats: 2 billion stealth kills, 38 million animals petted (who doesn't love petting a virtual animal?), and a billion kilometers traveled since March. It really makes you realize how many people are getting lost in this world. Could a Switch 2 port bring even more players to feudal Japan? Only time will tell!
And lastly, for fans of the franchise, the live-action Assassin's Creed adaptation on Netflix is finally happening after five long years. It's great to see the world of assassins expanding beyond video games!
