CASSETTE BOY adds Xbox Series, PS4, and Xbox One versions!
Hey everyone! Exciting news for those of you who love a good puzzle RPG with a retro twist. The upcoming game CASSETTE BOY, which mashes up pixel art with some seriously mind-bending quantum mechanics, is expanding its reach.
Originally announced for PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC (Steam), it's now also heading to Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. I think is a really cool move! More platforms mean more players can experience this unique title, and that's always a win.
Who's Handling What?
Forever Entertainment will publish the PlayStation and Xbox versions across the globe. They're also taking care of the Switch version in North America and Europe, while Wonderland Kazakiri, the developer, will handle publishing in Japan and Asia. For the PC version, Wonderland Kazakiri is going solo worldwide.
Now, let's talk about what makes CASSETTE BOY stand out. The game introduces the "Schrodinger System," inspired by the famous question about whether the moon exists when we're not looking at it. Basically, if you can't see something, it vanishes from the game world! It's a wild concept, and I'm eager to see how it plays out in practice.
The visuals might trick you at first glance, because it looks like classic pixel art, but the whole thing is actually built in 3D. By rotating the camera and playing with your perspective, you can solve puzzles in completely innovative ways. Imagine an object hidden behind a wall disappearing simply because you changed your viewpoint. This mechanic can apply to NPCs, monsters, even your own projectiles! It's all about using perspective to manipulate the environment and clear your path.
CASSETTE BOY sounds like it's taking familiar puzzle elements and turning them on their head. I am particularly hyped about this game, because it promises a retro feel with a completely fresh twist. I think it could be a really cool blend of old-school aesthetics and modern, mind-bending gameplay.
