Hey everyone! Guess what? Critical Role, that amazing tabletop web series we all know and love, is finally making its own video game! Can you believe it? After dominating the streaming world, selling out live shows, and even launching an animated series, they're taking on the gaming world. And with a team full of incredible voice actors like Laura Bailey and Matt Mercer, it's bound to be epic.

While they've got tons of experience voicing characters in games like The Last of Us Part 2 and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, this will be their first time actually creating a game from scratch. It's a big step, but I reckon they're totally up for the challenge!

The game is still in early development, but we know that they are teaming up with AdHoc Studio, a talented indie team with veterans from Telltale Games, Ubisoft, and Night School Studio. That’s a powerhouse of narrative game talent right there! The game will be set in their own role-playing world of Exandria, which is awesome for all us fans!

How did this all come about, you ask? Well, Travis Willingham auditioned for a role in Dispatch, which is being described as "a superhero workplace comedy" and an "interactive narrative game". It was there that he immediately realized something special was happening, and Critical Role needed to be a part of it.

According to Willingham, Critical Role is always looking for people who are innovating around new ways to deliver story, character and worldbuilding, and AdHoc fits that perfectly. Sounds like a match made in heaven, right? Dispatch is set to launch sometime in 2025, and it'll feature Mercer and Bailey as well. It looks like we will get a taste of what's to come pretty soon!

What will the Critical Role game look like? They're still figuring it out, but it will take some inspiration from Dispatch. I imagine they're brainstorming ideas, considering scope and budget, and thinking about what they absolutely have to include. I'm willing to bet we'll get to see our favorite characters!

Willingham promises that the game will be something unique in the world of Exandria, and one that will have to be brand-new in terms of storyline. Color me hyped! I'm personally super excited to see what they come up with. I am sure it's gonna be a blast!
