Destiny 2 Updates

Destiny 2's Fate Saga: New Expansions & Star Wars

Action RPG

While Bungie's new title, Marathon, is generating significant buzz, the studio hasn't forgotten about Destiny 2. A new multi-year story arc, the Fate Saga, is set to launch this July, promising a significant shift in the game's release model and content delivery.

Moving away from large annual expansions, Bungie will now release two smaller, paid expansions yearly. The first, The Edge of Fate, arrives on July 15th, transporting players to Kepler, a new location inspired by the game's challenging dungeons. This expansion features a new raid, enemies, weapons, and exciting destination-specific abilities, including the Matterspark, allowing Guardians to transform to navigate the environment.

A New Season and More

The Edge of Fate also kicks off the Reclamation season, accompanied by a free core game update with new events, challenges, and improvements like the new activity selection screen, "The Portal." Armor 3.0 is also reworked. Later, a permanent shooting range will allow for pre-raid tactical practice.

Additional free content drops are planned for September (Ash & Iron) and March 2024 (Shadow & Order), both described as "major updates." But the most striking announcement is Renegades, a Star Wars-themed paid expansion landing in December. This unexpected collaboration promises a unique blend of Destiny's gameplay and Star Wars lore, including a new dungeon and innovative activities.

With pre-orders open across various platforms, Destiny 2 players can look forward to a year packed with new content and adventures.
