Unveiling the Nine
This saga places the spotlight on The Nine, a mysterious group of powerful entities who predate even the Traveler. Previously hinted at in the game's lore, they're now stepping into the forefront, revealed as individual beings—not a hive mind—each with their own motivations and agendas. Their influence promises to be even more significant than the Witness's.
Exploring Kepler
The Edge of Fate introduces Kepler, a new area at the solar system's edge, described as having a Metroidvania-style exploration. This expansion also introduces World Tiers, escalating the difficulty for a more challenging experience.
New Gameplay Mechanics
Prepare for Matterspark, a fresh gameplay mechanic that lets Guardians transform into a lightning ball, zipping through environments and dealing damage in unique ways. This innovative feature is sure to add a new dimension to combat and exploration.
A Multi-Year Story
The Fates Saga isn't limited to The Edge of Fate. Bungie has planned additional expansions, including Renegades later in 2025, and Shattered Cycle and The Alchemist in 2026, ensuring years of exciting content for Destiny 2 players. This new approach features two smaller expansions annually.
