Destiny: Rising Mobile Launching Soon!
Okay, Destiny fans, listen up! Get ready to dive into a brand new adventure because Destiny: Rising, the free-to-play mobile version, is dropping on August 28th for Android and iOS. I know, I know, another mobile game, but hear me out!
This isn't just a simple port. Think of it as an alternate-timeline Destiny experience. Bungie's teaming up with NetEase to bring us a shared world where we can explore a story set after the Dark Age. We're talking about a fresh narrative, not just a rehash of what we already know, which sounds pretty cool, right?
After some closed alpha testing, they're almost ready to unleash it. In Destiny: Rising, you'll play as Wolf, a Lightbearer you can customize to your liking. You'll travel from Haven to the icy metro of Jiangshi and even the Red Sea Rift. It sounds like they're packing in a lot of variety in terms of environments.
And don't worry, it's still Destiny at its core. Expect the familiar looter-shooter action we all love. They're promising dynamic single-player, co-op, and competitive multiplayer gameplay. That includes open-world objectives, missions, strikes, PvP battles, and even six-player PvE activities. Plus, you can customize your Primary and Power Weapons and share compatible weapons across characters. There's even a new Mythic gear tier. So, yeah, sounds like there is plenty of content.
Now, to get you hyped for the launch, NetEase is running a pre-registration event. If you sign up early, you'll get some in-game bonuses. The more people that pre-register, the more rewards everyone gets. If that sounds like something you're into, head over to Google Play or the App Store and sign up. Who doesn't like free stuff?
While we're on the subject of Destiny, don't forget about Destiny 2. Bungie recently announced a new multi-year story arc called the Fate Saga. The first expansion, The Edge of Fate, is coming on July 15th, and there's a free core game update for everyone. Then, on December 2nd, Renegades launches. They're calling it integral to the Fate Saga, even though it has a Star Wars theme. I'm not sure what that means, but I'm intrigued!
