Diablo 4 Season 9: New Endgame and Dungeon Features
Diablo 4's Season 9, titled Sins of the Horadrim, is bringing a host of new features and challenges for players. The focus this time is heavily on dungeons and a revamped endgame experience.
New Endgame Activities
The main attraction is Escalating Nightmares, a series of three increasingly difficult Nightmare Dungeons. The catch? Affixes from previous dungeons carry over, making the final encounter a true test of skill. Completing this gauntlet allows players to face off against an Exalted Astaroth, a highly anticipated rematch from the campaign.
Adding to the dungeon crawl is the introduction of Horadric Strongrooms, micro-dungeons within Nightmare Dungeons. These offer a timed challenge for Horadric Attunement, a new currency used for rewards. Players can increase their chances of finding these Strongrooms by increasing their Torment level or utilizing Horadric Phials, a new seasonal currency.
Horadric Spellcraft
Season 9 introduces Horadric Spellcraft, a system for creating and customizing powerful spells. Using Catalysts, Infusions, and Arcana, players can tailor their spells to fit their playstyle. While reminiscent of previous seasonal mechanics, Horadric Spellcraft offers a fresh take on spell customization.
Quality of Life Improvements
Beyond the new content, several quality-of-life improvements are included. Players can now activate Nightmare Sigils directly within completed Nightmare Dungeons, streamlining the process. A new set of Nightmare Dungeon affixes adds variety to the challenge.
Horadric Jewels, crafted using Horadric Tomes (found in Strongrooms), offer powerful enhancements. These jewels can be socketed into Amulets and Rings, further enhancing build customization.
Get ready to dive into the depths of Sanctuary once more! The Sins of the Horadrim await.
