Hey everyone! I've got some exciting news for all you Dragon Ball fans out there who are playing Sparking! ZERO. Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft just dropped a bombshell, announcing a hefty chunk of DLC coming this summer, alongside some awesome free updates. And trust me, it sounds like they're really packing a punch with this content!

First off, let's talk about the big one: the DLC. They're calling it "major" for a reason, promising a ton of new stuff to sink your teeth into. We're talking fresh playable characters like Super Android 17, King Piccolo, and Super Saiyan Bardock – some serious fan favorites right there. If you are like me and enjoy customization, the DLC will also include new costumes, such as Gohan in childhood, and battle customization content that lets you discover new super attacks for Goku and Vegeta.

But wait, there's more! For those of you who love a good single-player challenge, the "Mission 100" mode arrives as a free update on January 26th. The goal is simple: use your favorite characters to tackle a variety of missions. However, even though it's a simple mode, it "offers a variety of battles" and “many many missions that will bring back memories for those who have played Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3.” Then, coming this spring, we're getting "Survival Mode," another free addition that sounds like it'll test your skills to the limit.

Now, here's a little asterisk: the release dates for both the DLC and the free updates might be a bit different if you're playing on Switch 2 or Switch. They haven't given us specific dates yet, but they did say that the previously released DLC for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC will eventually make its way to the Switch versions, starting this winter. So, hang tight, Switch players!

It's worth pointing out that this game is already available on a bunch of platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam. So, no matter your platform of choice, you can jump in and start training for all this new content. I, for one, am super stoked to see what these updates bring to the table. Bring on the battles!

While there's no precise information on how the updates will affect gameplay, I'm hoping these additions will expand the game's lifespan. I think the key to longevity is adding content that speaks to all kinds of players, like the most hardcore or the most casual ones.

I'm keeping my eyes peeled for more details, and I'll be sure to share them with you as soon as I get them. In the meantime, let me know in the comments which characters you're most excited to play as in the new DLC!
