Elden Ring Nightreign's Next Update: Depth Level Fixes and Quality-of-Life Features
So, Elden Ring Nightreign's Deep of Night mode has been out for a little over a week, and players are already giving feedback and finding some annoying issues. I mean, it's a tough mode designed for the hardcore players who've been around the block a few times. However, the initial release wasn't perfect, and some gamers bumped into a bug that could prevent them from ranking up, even after winning. Talk about frustrating!
The main problem? The Depth level wasn't always increasing like it should after a victory. Can you imagine grinding through a tough level, finally beating it, and then... nothing? Thankfully, FromSoftware is on it! They've announced a temporary fix is coming soon in an update, while they work on a permanent solution. I think that's great news, because everyone likes to see the numbers go up, right?
However, that's not all! They're also adding some cool quality-of-life improvements to Deep of Night. For example, you'll soon be able to decrease your Depth rank by one level. So, if you're finding a level too challenging, you can dial it back a notch.
But wait, there's more! For those who don't want to accidentally drop down a level, FromSoftware is adding rank demotion protection. When you reach Depth levels 3, 4, and 5, you'll be protected from losing a level after your next defeat. It's like a safety net! I think this is a really nice touch for players who want to push their limits without the fear of losing progress. And the best part? The protection refreshes when you reach the same Depth level again after a demotion. That's actually a good idea, because it gives you the courage to keep trying without getting too frustrated.
There's also a change for players at level 1 Depth. If they get matched into games at level 2 or higher, they won't lose points if they get defeated. I believe this is really great since it's not fair to penalize them for being thrown into a harder match.
Finally, if you're playing on Steam, you'll soon be able to continue your session if Steam itself disconnects. However, this is only going to work if Nightreign’s own servers are still up, because I don't think that they can fix that. So, if you’re finally ready to get the Nightlord bosses, keep your eyes peeled to the next updates!
