Hey everyone! Exciting news for horror fans! It looks like Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE is about to get even spookier! A demo is dropping on March 5th, so you can get a taste of the terror before the full game launches.

And that's not all! There's also a collaboration in the works with Silent Hill f, which is super cool. Think free costume DLC for both games! I'm really curious to see what kind of outfits they come up with.

What's New in the Remake?

For those who don't know, Fatal Frame II is all about twin sisters who stumble into a creepy, abandoned village. Their only defense against the angry spirits is the Camera Obscura, a special camera that can capture ghosts. This remake isn't just a graphical upgrade; it's adding new stuff, like a brand-new ending with a theme song by Tsuki Amano, plus extra side stories and locations to check out.

While you're wandering around haunted areas, you'll find Broken Spirit Stones. These let you peek into the pasts of different characters and unlock even more of the game's story. There are also new places to explore, like the Umbral Mound (sounds lovely, right?) and the candlelit Eikado Temple.

The spirits you meet are getting upgrades, too. As you dive deeper into the mystery, they'll become more aggressive and even sprout wings! These souped-up spirits are covered in a crimson aura, and they can regenerate health while attacking you more often and harder.

Fighting Back Against the Supernatural

Luckily, you're not totally defenseless. You can use Prayer Beads to make your Camera Obscura more powerful, increasing focus points and reload speed. And if you mess up your upgrades, you can find Reversion Beads to reset everything.

With the Camera Obscura, you can now take Special Shots to fight the ghosts. Different filters give you different effects. For example, the Paraceptual Filter lets you use the Blinding shot to stun enemies so you can escape. Or, you can use the Radiant Filter for a Purging shot, which does extra damage at the cost of Mio's willpower.

There are also Twin Dolls hidden around the village that you can photograph to purify. Doing so unlocks items in the Point Exchange.

I think the Photo Mode sounds like a lot of fun. You can add frames, stickers, and effects to your photos, and maybe even catch a sneaky ghost in the background.

Silent Hill f Collaboration

As I mentioned before, there's a collaboration coming with Silent Hill f, the latest game in the Silent Hill series. We don't have details on the costumes yet, but I'm really excited to see what they come up with.

Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly REMAKE is launching on March 12th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC. Silent Hill f is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, so you can check that out while you wait for the Fatal Frame remake to drop!
