Final Fantasy Tactics Returns Remastered
Get ready for a trip down memory lane! Square Enix has announced a remaster of the beloved 1997 strategy RPG, Final Fantasy Tactics. Retitled Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, this updated version will launch on September 30th, 2025.
Two Ways to Play
Players will have a choice: experience the game as it was originally intended, complete with its classic graphics and interface, or dive into an enhanced version boasting a modernized interface, story additions, and fully voiced dialogue. The English translation from the 2007 War of the Lions version will be included.
Tactical Combat and a Rich Story
For those unfamiliar, Final Fantasy Tactics is a tactical RPG. You'll command a squad of soldiers on a grid-based battlefield, engaging in turn-based combat. But don't let the tactical gameplay fool you; the game boasts a captivating story rich with characters and lore, a staple of the Final Fantasy series. The “Ivalice Chronicles” subtitle highlights the game's setting, the fictional land of Ivalice.
The game will be available on Steam, although the Steam page is not yet live. Mark your calendars for September 30th!
