Fortnite Enhanced on Nintendo Switch 2
Get ready, Fortnite fans! Epic Games has announced a significant upgrade to the game for the newly released Nintendo Switch 2. Starting June 5th, players will experience a vastly improved gaming experience. Prepare for a boost to 60 FPS, sharper visuals with a higher resolution (2176x1224 docked, 1600x900 undocked), and greatly expanded view distances.
Visual and Performance Improvements
The visual enhancements are substantial. Expect higher-quality textures, shadows, and water rendering, all contributing to a more immersive experience. Additionally, clothing physics have been enabled, adding a new layer of realism to character movement.
New Features and Controls
Beyond the visual improvements, the Switch 2 version introduces several new features. A built-in replay system lets you relive your epic moments, and the ability to capture video clips using the console's capture button makes sharing highlights easier than ever. For the first time, GameChat is supported, enabling seamless communication with up to three friends while streaming your gameplay. And if you prefer, mouse controls will be available starting June 7th, with support for using either Joy-Con, or both, offering flexible control options.
Exclusive Rewards and More
To sweeten the deal, players who log in before March 31st, 2026, will receive the exclusive Wishing Star emote. The Nintendo Switch Pro Controller is also compatible. It's important to note that while most game modes are available, Save The World, the PvE cooperative mode, is currently unavailable on the Switch 2 version.
