Fortnite iOS Return

Fortnite Returns to iOS App Store

Battle Royale

After a long wait, Fortnite is back on the Apple App Store for iPhones and iPads in the U.S.! This marks the end of a five-year absence following a legal battle between Epic Games and Apple.

The return follows a court decision and a period of negotiations. While some users might initially have trouble finding it via the App Store search, a direct link is available. For players in the European Union, Fortnite can be downloaded from the Epic Games Store and AltStore.

A Long and Winding Road

The conflict began in 2020 when Apple removed Fortnite after Epic Games implemented a direct payment system, bypassing Apple's in-app purchase system and its associated fees. This sparked a protracted legal fight which finally led to the game’s reinstatement.

Now, players on iOS devices can once again enjoy Fortnite, with the option to purchase V-Bucks directly from Epic Games or through in-app purchases. This offers users a different payment option, granting a portion of the revenue back to them, unlike the situation prior to the legal conflict.

Beyond the Return

The news of Fortnite's return comes alongside other recent developments in the game's world. A recent collaboration with Star Wars introduced an AI-powered Darth Vader bot, that although generating issues, shows the continued push of AI in the gaming world.
