Genshin Impact Luna 5: Mondstadt Returns with Playable Varka!
Hey everyone! Get hyped because Genshin Impact's about to drop its next big update, and it's a real trip down memory lane. It's called "Song of the Welkin Moon: Variation - Homeward, He Who Caught the Wind" (yeah, it's a mouthful, I know), and it's launching on February 25. This time, we're heading back to Mondstadt, where many of us started our Genshin journey, so, prepare for some serious nostalgia!
But the best part? Varka is finally joining the crew as a playable character! After waiting so long, the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius is here. He's a 5-Star Anemo Claymore user and he's bringing a unique dual-wielding style to the table, dealing two types of Elemental damage.
Let's talk about Varka's combat. His Elemental Skill is where things get interesting, amping up his regular attacks and changing his right-hand claymore's damage type to match his teammates' elements (think Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo). Meanwhile, his left-hand claymore is always dishing out Anemo damage. It sounds very unique, and I think it will be super fun to play. The more you use normal attacks, the more often you can unleash a special Elemental Skill or a Charged Attack that won't eat up your stamina. Plus, with the Hexerei effect, you can trigger even more Elemental Skills and Charged Attacks, turning him into a damage-dealing machine.
What else?
For those who are curious, Flins will be available in the first phase of Event Wishes, while Skirk and Escoffier will be in the second phase. Also, look out for the return of the Chronicled Wish featuring Mondstadt characters. You can also expect a central event where you have to revisit memories from the beginning of your adventure with Genshin Impact, meeting old friends. In Echoes of Memory, you’ll witness familiar scenes that have been changed slightly, and you’ll need to use the Spotter Kamera to detect and record those differences.
The Knights of Favonius are hosting all sorts of activities too. There's one where you can catch up with old friends over drinks you make for them. Outside of the events, they also added a new set of Gliding and Combat Challenges. And of course, new minigames where you can chill. The Kamera is back and this time you can capture sights from Natlan, Fontaine, and Sumeru. Also, there's a horde mode where you have to defend against waves of enemies. I can't wait to try it out!
