Gex Trilogy Returns with Physical & Digital Editions
Get ready for a dose of 90s nostalgia! The Gex Trilogy, featuring the original Gex and its two sequels, Gex: Enter the Gecko and Gex 3: Deep Cover Gecko, is making a comeback on June 16th. This collection will be available digitally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Steam.
More Than Just a Re-release
This isn't just a simple port; the trilogy boasts several improvements. Expect native widescreen support, save states, a rewind feature, and a treasure trove of bonus content. This includes original artwork, classic advertisements, a music player, and even a new interview with the original US voice actor, Dana Gould.
Physical Copies Available
For those who prefer physical copies, Limited Run Games is offering several editions. A standard edition includes a disc or cartridge (depending on the platform) and is priced at $39.99. There's also a Classic Edition for $74.99 that includes a Steelbook, reversible poster, soundtrack CD, and a retro box. But if you're a serious collector, prepare for the Tail Time Edition. For $199.99, you get everything in the Classic Edition, plus a 7-inch Gex statue, trading cards, a pin, special artwork box, and—the pièce de résistance—a 36-inch inflatable Gex!
A Blast from the Past
While Crystal Dynamics has moved on to other projects like the Tomb Raider series and is currently assisting with the Perfect Dark reboot, the return of Gex offers a fun trip back to the 90s for fans of platformers and anyone curious about this quirky, meme-worthy reptile.
