Ghost of Yotei Reveals New Trailer and Returning Legends Mode at Gamescom!
Hey everyone! So, Gamescom Opening Night Live dropped a bunch of cool updates and fresh game reveals, and I was super excited to see more of Ghost of Yotei. The new trailer is pretty awesome. It mixes quick glimpses of the game's action-packed combat with some seriously menacing villain moments.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything too crazy, but then BAM! They hit us with a teaser at the end. Legends, the online co-op mode that was a hit in Ghost of Tsushima, is making a comeback in Yotei. It's not going to be there right away when the game launches, but it's coming in a free update in 2026.
Legends Mode Details
So, what's Legends going to be like? Well, it'll have new story missions for two players, plus those intense four-player survival matches we loved. Also, there will be four different character classes that you can play. From what I could see, some of the bosses will be like, totally insane, demonic versions of the Yotei Six gang. We didn't get a super in-depth look at Legends this time around, but this is cool news.
I mean, with the game launching in about six weeks, it's kind of surprising we haven't seen a ton of Ghost of Yotei gameplay. They've kept it pretty secret since the beginning. It wasn't until July that we got a proper deep dive with Sony's State of Play. However, after seeing the trailer, I'm even more excited!
While I'm always up for more open-world action RPG goodness, Yotei seems like a pretty straightforward sequel. I can understand why they might not want to give away all the surprises beforehand. Ghost of Yotei is hitting PS5 on October 2, so mark your calendars!
