God of War: Sons of Sparta - Kratos Goes Retro in New 2D Adventure
So, a new God of War game just dropped, but it's not what you might expect. Forget the sprawling Norse landscapes and over-the-shoulder combat, because Sons of Sparta takes Kratos back to his 2D roots! Yeah, you heard right. We're talking old-school platforming action, folks! Mega Cat Studios, known for their retro-inspired games, developed this one. Honestly, I'm intrigued. I grew up on side-scrollers, so the idea of Kratos jumping and slashing through levels like it's 1988 is kinda awesome.
I think that it will be a nice change from the recent titles. I'm curious to see how they translated Kratos' brutal combat style into a 2D format. Will we still get those epic boss battles and satisfying combos? I hope so! It would be cool if they incorporated some classic God of War lore and characters into the retro aesthetic. Imagine fighting a pixelated Hydra or scaling a 16-bit Mount Olympus!
I imagine that It might feel strange to play as Kratos in a completely different perspective, but I trust that Mega Cat Studios has done their homework and delivered a fun and engaging experience. I am always open to seeing established franchises experiment with new genres and styles, so I will definetly give this a try.
