Rockstar Games has unveiled a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, offering a more detailed look at the game's protagonists and its vibrant setting, Leonida. The updated website provides further insights into the cast and locations, promising a thrilling and diverse experience.
Meet the Protagonists
The game features two main characters: Jason Duval, a former soldier turned drug runner, and Lucia Caminos, recently released from Leonida Penitentiary. Their intertwined stories, both seeking a different path in life, form the core narrative. Supporting characters include Jason's friend Cal Hampton, a lovable character, and Brian Heder, a seasoned smuggler who provides Jason with temporary housing.
The Music Industry Takes Center Stage
A significant element of GTA VI revolves around the music industry. Boobie Ike, a Vice City legend, and aspiring mogul Dre'Quan Priest run Only Raw Records, home to the controversial female rap duo, Bae-Luxe and Roxy (aka Real Dimez). This facet promises a satirical look at the modern music scene and its social media obsession, expanding on themes seen in previous trailers.
Exploring Leonida
Leonida itself is a diverse and expansive setting. Vice City, a Miami-inspired locale, is the central hub, encompassing various districts like Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, and the VC Port. Beyond Vice City lie the Leonida Keys, offering a more relaxed atmosphere; Grassrivers, a wild and untamed area; Port Gellhorn, a rundown tourist zone; Ambrosia, the industrial heartland; and Mount Kalaga National Park, a vast natural area. The sheer number of locations suggests a massive and varied game world.
Raul Bautista, a seasoned bank robber seeking new talent, rounds out the key characters, hinting at exciting possibilities for the protagonists' journey. The game's release is set for May 26th, 2026.
