Helldivers 2: Stealth Missions Arrive! Plus, the Super-Slim Install Size is Here!
Alright, listen up, Helldivers! A fresh update just dropped, and it's bringing some seriously cool stuff to the game. I'm talking about the new Redacted Regiment warbond, which, let's be honest, we've all been waiting for. But that's not all! This patch is all about stealth and making you feel like a true commando behind enemy lines.
Think you can handle it? Well, these new commando missions are designed to reward players who know how to keep a low profile. Basically, you're going deep behind enemy lines where calling in air support isn't an option. You'll need to be smart about your reinforcements and when to use them, and remember that destroyer support is a risky move with limited time. So, coordinating with your squad and knowing when to strike silently is absolutely key. I think that this will add a cool element to the gameplay, and it will change the experience for many players. This is a type of game that I like to play with my friends on the weekends, so I think that this update will have a good impact on me and my experience.
And speaking of stealth, it seems like the devs have been tweaking the suppressed weapons to make them even more effective. Now, they should be "more valuable in stealth gameplay and attract less attention from enemies". It looks like the radius of firing noise was tweaked, and now the Devastator, Berserker, Spewer, Charger, Impaler, and Observer are less sensitive to bullets flying around them. That means that if you miss your shot, you are less likely to instantly attract their attention.
Helldivers 2 Slim Build
Now, let's talk about something that a lot of you have been waiting for: the slim build. For those who don't know, Arrowhead has been testing a slimmed-down version of Helldivers 2 in beta, with the goal of shrinking the install size from a massive 154GB to just 23GB. Yes, you read that right! The studio is planning to make the slim build the default for all players soon. They'll keep the larger version online for a short time to make sure everyone transitions smoothly, and you'll still have the option to switch back if you want. However, once the transition is complete, they'll be permanently removing the large build in the near future. As of right now, there's no specific date for when the switch will happen, but it sounds like it's coming soon.
But there's more to come. Arrowhead has promised that there's "much more to come in February and beyond." I don't know about you, but I'm hyped to see what they have in store for us. In the meantime, get out there and start mastering those stealth tactics!
