Naughty Dog Developing Second Game Alongside Intergalactic
Naughty Dog, the studio behind acclaimed titles like The Last of Us, is currently developing not one, but two games. While the sci-fi adventure Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is generating considerable excitement, studio head Neil Druckmann recently confirmed the existence of a second, currently unnamed project.
Druckmann clarified his involvement, stating he’s acting as a writer and creative director for Intergalactic, but in a more supervisory role for the second game. He described this as a fulfilling experience, allowing him to mentor another team and provide executive feedback, keeping his work dynamic and engaging.
Speculation and Possibilities
This isn't the first time Naughty Dog has hinted at multiple projects. Previous statements mentioned several ambitious single-player games under development. While no details have been shared about this second game, speculation runs rampant. One possibility is involvement from Shaun Escayg, director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, who returned to Naughty Dog in 2021.
Rumors of a third Last of Us game have circulated for years, but Druckmann recently seemed to dismiss this possibility. For now, focus is clearly on Intergalactic, slated for a 2027 release, with casting news recently announced.
