New Thief VR Game Coming in 2025
Fans of stealth games have a reason to celebrate! After over a decade, a new Thief game is on the horizon. However, this time around, players will need a VR headset to experience the thrill of the shadows.
Revealed during a recent PlayStation showcase, Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow offers a fresh take on the classic formula. The trailer showcases familiar gameplay elements: navigating a sprawling city, sneaking past guards, utilizing stealth mechanics, and of course, pilfering valuable treasures. The unique perspective of VR adds a new layer of immersion, although the disembodied hands might take some getting used to.
A New Thief in Town
Players will step into the shoes of Magpie, an orphan thief making a name for themselves in The City, ruled by the ominous Baron Ulysses Northcrest. The discovery of a legendary artifact sets off a chain of events that unravels a web of secrets and conspiracies.
Developed by Maze Theory in collaboration with Vertigo Games and Eidos-Montréal, Thief VR: Legacy of Shadow is slated for a 2025 release on PSVR2. Whether the game will be released on other platforms remains to be seen. This promises to be a truly unique experience for fans of the franchise and VR enthusiasts alike.
