Nintendo's New 'My Mario' Line: Toys, Clothes, and Stop-Motion for Kids!
Nintendo's diving headfirst into the baby and toddler scene with a brand new line called "My Mario"! I think it's a cool idea. This isn't just about games anymore; it's a whole range of toys, clothes, and all sorts of goodies designed for the youngest Mario fans. Plus, they're even launching a stop-motion Mario series to go along with it all. How awesome is that?
The "My Mario" line is supposed to be something parents and kids can enjoy together, which is pretty neat. There's a mix of stuff made by Nintendo themselves and products from other companies they're teaming up with. The animated Mario series, called "It's Me, Mario! Stop Motion Shorts," will be on the My Mario website and other places. Each episode is super short, only about a minute long, and it's all about Mario showing off different expressions and moves using stop motion. I can imagine kids will be super entertained!
Interactive Fun and Physical Goodies
There's also a free "Hello, Mario!" app for phones and the Switch. From what I understand, it lets kids play around with Mario's face, kind of like that classic Mario 64 title screen where you could stretch and squish his face. When you mess with Mario's face, he reacts in different ways, which should be funny for both kids and parents to watch together.
Beyond the digital stuff, the My Mario website is packed with all sorts of baby and toddler items. We're talking bowls, spoons, adorable Mario hoodies and t-shirts, picture books, bibs, pajamas, blankets, plushies, diaper bags, socks, rattles – you name it! It sounds like they've thought of everything a little Mario fan could need.
Wooden Blocks and Amiibo? Yes, Please!
But the real star of the show, in my opinion, are the wooden block sets. There's a smaller set with three pieces and a bigger one with 30. The larger set costs around £100. It comes with classic Mushroom Kingdom blocks like the question mark block, brick block, and music note block. You also get wooden power-ups like a Super Mushroom, Green Shell, Fire Flower, and Super Star, plus a cool green warp pipe. Even the box turns into a little diorama scene! What I found interesting is that the wooden Mario, Peach, Luigi, and Yoshi figures also work as amiibo in compatible games. So, if you're still collecting amiibo, here's something new to hunt for! The smaller block set, which is around £15, includes Mario, a question mark block, and a Super Mushroom.
The first wave of "My Mario" products is hitting Japan on August 26th. For the rest of the world, it looks like we'll have to wait until 2026 for "My Mario" to launch in other countries.
