Nintendo's Switch 2 is a Hit! Mario Kart World is Selling Like Crazy
Wow, Nintendo's doing great! Their new console, the Switch 2, has been a real success since it launched. I mean, 5.82 million consoles sold in the first month? That's awesome! And get this – almost everyone who bought a Switch 2 also grabbed Mario Kart World.
I was checking out Nintendo's latest financial report, and the numbers are kinda crazy. They've sold over 5.6 million copies of Mario Kart World. That means about 97% of Switch 2 owners have the game. That´s almost everyone!
They sold 8.67 million software units. Around 65% are Mario Kart World sales. It seems like that was a **smart move** to launch the console with that game.
Even with all those sales, Nintendo says they're still struggling to keep up with demand in some countries. It seems like everyone wants a piece of the action! The console was the company's fastest-selling hardware ever, moving 3.5m units in its first four days.
The original Switch is still going strong too! It's sold over 153 million units so far. They're expecting to sell another 4.5 million this year, which could make it their best-selling console ever, beating the Nintendo DS. However, it still has a way to go to beat the PlayStation 2.
Nintendo's overall sales have skyrocketed, growing by 132% compared to last year. Profit also jumped, but not quite as much, probably because the new console costs more to make. Digital sales dipped a bit, but they still make up a big chunk of Nintendo's revenue. I guess people still like buying physical games.
Don't worry, the US tariffs aren't affecting Nintendo. They're still planning to sell 15 million Switch 2 consoles this year. Plus, we've got cool games like Pokémon Legends: Z-A coming soon, and Metroid Prime 4 is still on track for 2025.
What's Next?
They recently showed off a bunch of new third-party games. All in all, it looks like Nintendo's got a great lineup. I can't wait to see what they do next! I'm really curious to see which games will stand out! What about you?
