Oblivion Remaster Leaks! First Look at the Potential New Elder Scrolls!

Hold on to your helmets, adventurers! It looks like the rumors are true! Images potentially showcasing The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered have surfaced online, sending the internet into a frenzy. The leak seems to originate from Virtuos Games, the Singapore-based developer rumored to be working on the project.

A sharp-eyed Redditor, Taurnil, stumbled upon the images while poking around the Virtuos Games website. By cleverly navigating through a random element, they discovered a Wordpress folder filled with images labeled "Elder Scrolls IV" and "Oblivion." These images were apparently uploaded very recently (April 15th).

I attempted to follow in Taurnil's footsteps and was able to access the folder myself. However, it seems someone at Virtuos caught wind of the leak, as the images are now inaccessible. The filenames, however, remain visible at the time of writing. I've reached out to Virtuos for an official comment.

Adding fuel to the fire, someone else has allegedly uploaded some images to Imgur – and one of them is prominently displayed above! While these images appear legitimate, we must exercise caution, as there's a slight chance they could be elaborate fakes. They depict iconic locations like the Imperial City of Cyrodiil and a fiery Oblivion gate, accompanied by the title "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered."

Remaster or Remake?

The big question is: are we looking at a simple remaster or something more substantial? Earlier rumors hinted at significant changes to the original 2006 RPG's stealth, stamina, and blocking systems. If these leaked images are genuine, it suggests that Virtuos is going beyond a mere resolution bump.

The hype surrounding a potential Oblivion remake is currently off the charts, especially considering Bethesda's cagey response: "we have no official information on an Oblivion remake." If I were Bethesda and had a reveal trailer ready, I'd be seriously considering dropping it sooner rather than later!
