OD Trailer Drops: Kojima's New Horror Game Looks Seriously Creepy

Get ready to be spooked! Kojima Productions just dropped a trailer for their upcoming horror title, OD, and it's giving major P.T. vibes. Remember P.T., the playable teaser that had us all on the edge of our seats, dreaming of what Silent Hills could've been? Yeah, OD seems to be tapping into that same unsettling energy. The trailer throws you right into the thick of it, through the eyes of a young woman, played by Sophia Lillis, inside what appears to be a creepy, run-down building. Rain's lashing against the windows, and there's this unsettling altar with mismatched candles. Some of them are shaped like babies, which is… disturbing, to say the least. Things get weirder. Someone slides a card under a red ornamental door – which reminds me of Silent Hill 4. The card has a freaky drawing of a face covered in eyes and instructions to "light fires." Then the knocking starts. Loud, persistent knocking. Our protagonist bravely (or foolishly) ignores it and keeps lighting those eerie candles. The tension builds and builds until the door bursts open. We don't see what's on the other side, but whatever it is, it's not good. The woman is clearly terrified, and then… black screen. The trailer is heavy on symbolism and metaphor, much like P.T.. While I’m really hyped, I kinda hope they don't reveal too much too soon. Part of what made P.T. so great was its mystery, the way it left you piecing things together yourself. Kojima himself said that OD isn't "a game about lighting candles." I'm hoping that means we're not going to see him go down the usual horror route with jump scares and guns. I need a psychological horror experience, something that messes with your head long after you've stopped playing. Make us think, Kojima!
