Pokemon Winds and Waves Announced for Nintendo Switch 2
Alright, Pokémon fans, listen up! The Pokémon Company and Game Freak just dropped a massive announcement: Get ready for Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves! What's really exciting? They're slated to launch in 2027, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. Yeah, you read that right – Switch 2!
While 2027 feels like a lifetime away, I’m already hyped for what these new titles could bring. They're promising a fresh, open-world experience. Think beautiful, windswept islands and vast oceans. It's got me wondering, though: How different will the Switch 2 version be? Will it be a massive leap in graphics and gameplay, or just a minor bump? Only time will tell!
And what would a new Pokémon generation be without some fresh faces? Say hello to our new starters:
- Browt: The Grass-type Bean Chick Pokémon
- Pombon: The Fire-type Puppy Pokémon
- Gecqua: The Water-type Gecko Pokémon
Along with these adorable new additions, we're also getting special Pikachu variations: Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu. I have to admit, those names are a bit on the nose, but I can't wait to see what these unique Pikachu bring to the table!
More Details
In these games, you'll step into the shoes of a trainer. Your character will even have different outfits. Of course, depending on which version you choose, adding a touch of personalization to your adventure. The game will let us explore and interact with a brand-new region filled with unique Pokémon.
Browt, for example, is a Grass-type Pokémon with the Overgrow ability, standing at 1 foot tall and weighing 7.7 lbs. Pombon, the Fire-type, boasts the Blaze ability, standing slightly taller at 1'4" and weighing 14.8 lbs. Finally, Gecqua, the Water-type, has the Torrent ability, matching Browt's height at 1 foot and weighing 9.5 lbs.
Also, in a move toward greater accessibility, The Pokémon Company is adding Brazilian Portuguese as a supported language! It's great to see them reaching out to more players around the globe.
I'm really curious to know what you all think about these new games! Are you excited about the Switch 2? Let me know in the comments below!
