Prince of Persia's Comeback Success

Action-Adventure

Ubisoft recently announced that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has surpassed two million players! This marks a significant resurgence for the franchise, which hadn't seen a new title since 2010's The Forgotten Sands. The game's success, boosted by its inclusion in Ubisoft's subscription service and PS Plus, as well as a recent mobile release, has clearly captivated players.

More Prince of Persia on the Horizon?

While initial reports suggested the development team behind The Lost Crown had been dissolved, Ubisoft has confirmed that they are working on future Prince of Persia experiences. Although the exact nature of these projects remains unclear, the official social media statement — "The Prince is back, and believe us — he's just warming up" — hints at more to come.

Several possibilities exist. Further updates for The Rogue Prince of Persia (currently in early access) are likely. The long-awaited Sands of Time remake is also slated for release in 2026. Whether the Lost Crown team will contribute to future side-scrolling Metroidvania entries in the series remains to be seen, but the franchise’s recent success makes the prospect very exciting.

The return of the Prince of Persia franchise with The Lost Crown has been a resounding success, proving there is still a significant appetite for this classic series. The future remains exciting and full of potential. Keep an eye out for more news!
