Resident Evil: New Strategy Game Announced for Mobile Devices
Hey zombie fans! If Resident Evil Requiem wasn't enough to get you hyped, then listen to this. A brand-new strategy game set in the Resident Evil universe, called Resident Evil Survival Unit, is heading to mobile! I think it's pretty awesome, as I love when they release a version for mobile.
It's being developed by Aniplex Inc and Joycity Corporation, but don't worry, Capcom is keeping a close eye on things to make sure it feels like a real Resi game. I mean, it's their baby, right? They gotta make sure it is in good hands.
Right now, details are kinda scarce, but mark your calendars! On July 10th, there's a showcase planned where we'll get our first real look at the game. I'm excited to see what kind of gameplay we can expect!
The developers are saying that Resident Evil Survival Unit is going to be fun for both old-school fans and newcomers to the series. And it's not just for Japan or the US – it's launching all over the globe, including Europe and Asia!
Along with the announcement, there was some artwork released. It shows a car driving during a storm. There's also an Umbrella sign – you know, that company with totally good intentions! It says something about "our business is life itself…". Yeah, right!
Since Umbrella went under in 2003 after the Raccoon City trials, I'm guessing Resident Evil Survival Unit takes place before that. It will be interesting to see how this timeline plays out.
Speaking of the Resident Evil timeline, I remember when they talked about making Leon Kennedy the main guy in Requiem. Ultimately, they decided he wasn't right for the role. I think it would have been interesting to see what that would look like.
I can't wait to see more of Resident Evil Survival Unit! And I hope it can scare the hell out of me like Requiem, as someone mentioned it was pretty scary!
