Rogue Prince of Persia Leaves Early Access
Fans of roguelike games and the Prince of Persia franchise have reason to celebrate! After a successful early access period, The Rogue Prince of Persia is finally getting a full 1.0 release this August. A new trailer showcased at the PC Gaming Show offered a glimpse of the exciting gameplay to come.
Gameplay and Features
Developed by Evil Empire, a subsidiary of Motion Twin (the studio behind the acclaimed Dead Cells), the game blends 2D platforming, stylish combat, and the satisfying loop of roguelike progression. Expect plenty of parkour, challenging enemies, and a variety of weapons to master.
The full release promises a complete story, new biomes, a formidable final boss, and an expanded arsenal. The November update already significantly expanded the game, doubling its size and revamping the art style. More details, including a precise release date and potential console ports, are expected soon.
From Early Access to Full Release
The game’s development shows the interesting synergy between Motion Twin and its spin-off studio. Evil Empire leveraged the experience gained from Dead Cells, resulting in a title that shares a similar fast-paced and engaging core gameplay loop, but with a fresh coat of paint and a distinct identity.
With the full release on the horizon, The Rogue Prince of Persia is poised to be a major contender in the roguelike genre, offering a unique blend of classic action and modern gameplay mechanics.
