SAND: Raiders of Sophie lands in March for PS5 and PC, coming later to Xbox Series
Get ready, because SAND: Raiders of Sophie is heading to PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam this March! After that, Xbox Series players will get their chance to jump in at a later date, according to the announcement from tinyBuild and the developers Hologryph and TowerHaus. As someone who loves open-world games, I'm pretty excited about this one!
So, what's the deal with SAND? Well, it's an open-world, player-versus-player-versus-environment (PvPvE) extraction shooter. Imagine battling it out with other players while also dealing with the environment and its dangers. You'll be piloting giant walkers across a post-apocalyptic desert planet. Sounds intense, right? If you like games with conflict, then this might be a good game for you.
Key Features That Caught My Eye
The coolest part, in my opinion, is the Tramplers. These aren't just vehicles; they're gigantic walking bases that you can customize and upgrade. Think of them as your mobile fortress, shielding you from sandstorms, protecting your loot, and blasting anyone who gets in your way. You can build them from scratch! It's like having a massive, customizable mech that's also your home.
Of course, there's also the first-person combat. You can team up with friends or go solo, battling other players and the undead remnants of the planet's former inhabitants. You can fight with a variety of weapons or weaponize your Trampler for massive-scale battles across the dunes.
The game will encourage you to explore a fallen civilization. You'll be able to search through ruined cities for riches. But be careful—danger is everywhere. You'll sail the world, search abandoned streets, monuments, and wrecks, recover valuable loot, weapons, and resources, and fight off rival pirates before escaping with your rewards.
While we wait, you can watch the release window trailer. I know I will!
