Hey Tekken fans! Looks like Bandai Namco is listening. After a somewhat divisive Season 2 that favored hyper-aggressive play, Tekken 8 is shifting gears. Season 3 is bringing a "back to basics" approach with balance adjustments and, more excitingly, the return of some beloved characters.

If you were among those who felt Season 2 pushed things a bit too far with mechanics like Heat Dash overshadowing strategic defense, there's good news! The initial buzz around Season 3 suggests a return to classic Tekken gameplay, where sidestepping and thoughtful play are actually rewarded. From what I've seen, the combos are less flashy, and the overall feel seems more grounded.

Speaking of characters, get ready for a serious dose of nostalgia. We're getting Kunimitsu (Spring 2026), Bob (Summer 2026), and Roger Jr. (Autumn 2026)! I remember spending hours mastering Bob's unpredictable moveset back in the day. And who can forget Roger Jr., the boxing kangaroo? Absolutely bonkers, but incredibly fun!

The fourth DLC character, as well as a new stage, will be released in Winter 2026. While their identity is a mystery, I'm personally hoping for another legacy character. Maybe someone completely unexpected? Only time will tell!

If you're already hyped, the Season 3 pass drops on February 10th. It also includes the Aurora costume pack, which includes 44 costumes, so you can give your favorite fighter a fresh new look, which is a good deal if you ask me. Overall, Season 3 seems to be a course correction, and I'm looking forward to see how it shakes things up!
