The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine Palace Gets Book-Accurate Interior Mod
Remember Beauclair Palace from The Witcher 3's Blood and Wine expansion? I always thought it looked amazing, but I was a little bummed we couldn't snoop around more. Well, guess what? A talented modder, OlivierR45455566465, has been busy using the REDkit to bring the palace to life in a way that's actually faithful to the Witcher books!
OlivierR45455566465 isn't new to this. They've previously revamped locations like Kaer Morhen and the manor from Hearts of Stone. But this Beauclair Palace project is something else. They've essentially built a full interior for the upper section of the palace, which includes areas we've only read about.
Imagine exploring the three-floor main tower, the Duchess' bedroom, and even her throne room. But that's not all! You can also check out the knights' hall, the library, and a secret chamber. And if you're feeling fancy, you can always take a peek at the treasure room or just chill in one of the living rooms.
"Even though I had to work under severe restrictions... I have tried to remain as faithful as I possibly could to the books and the game," OlivierR45455566465 explained. And it shows! They've gone the extra mile by adding new NPCs that patrol the rooms, tweaking the sound in each area, and even fixing some structural issues.
Once you've installed the mod and fired up the game with Blood & Wine enabled, you can waltz into the palace whenever you want. It's a great addition if you're like me and enjoy sightseeing in Beauclair. Plus, with the mod in place, I think Geralt would feel right at home, reminiscing about his adventures in the books. I'm lowkey waiting for someone to add a massive palace slide now. How fun would that be?
