Hey everyone! I've got some interesting news fresh from Ubisoft. Apparently, they're not just cooking up one, but TWO new Far Cry games! This comes straight from Ubisoft's CEO, Yves Guillemot, during an interview about the company's future plans. I think it's super cool that they are working on expanding the Far Cry franchise!

So, what's the deal? Well, Ubisoft is shaking things up with five "creative houses," including their partnership with Tencent called Vantage Studios. Someone asked Guillemot if this new structure would speed up development on big franchises like Far Cry and Assassin's Creed. His answer? A resounding yes!

He mentioned that they have a solid pipeline going, with multiple Assassin's Creed titles in development, including both single-player and multiplayer experiences. But the real kicker is that he confirmed they have two very promising Far Cry projects in the works. This is great since a lot of us were hoping for more Far Cry games!

While Ubisoft has been tight-lipped about specifics, rumors have been swirling about these two projects. One, codenamed Project Blackbird, is supposedly the next mainline Far Cry game. The story is said to be non-linear, focusing on a protagonist whose family gets kidnapped, and the whole thing plays out over 72 in-game hours, which is 24 real-time hours. That sounds intense!

The other game, Project Maverick, is rumored to be a standalone multiplayer experience set in the Alaskan wilderness. Think extraction-based shooter with permadeath, a backpack system, contracts, and lootable chests. It definitely gives me some survival game vibes, which I am all here for.

Speaking of Assassin's Creed, we already know about some upcoming titles like Project Hexe and the Black Flag remake. However, it looks like not all projects are going as planned. Insider Gaming reported that Ubisoft canned two upcoming Assassin's Creed games as part of their restructuring, including one called Assassin's Creed Singularity.
