Zenless Zone Zero's Big Anniversary Update

Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) is celebrating its first anniversary (well, almost!) with a massive update. Version 2.0 has arrived, bringing with it a slew of exciting new content and the highly anticipated release on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Players can look forward to a generous login event, offering a free S-Rank Agent and S-Rank W-Engine, along with 1,600 Polychrome—enough for 10 gacha pulls! A special profile title and avatar complete the celebratory package.

Season 2 and New Characters

Version 2.0 officially kicks off Season 2 of the story, promising to unravel more mysteries and introduce compelling new characters. Two new Agents join the roster: Yixuan, an S-Rank Rupture Agent (a brand-new damage type!), and Pan Yinhu, an A-Rank Agent. Their introduction also brings the 11th playable faction, the Yunkui Summit, into the game, hinting at significant developments in future chapters.

Alongside the new characters, the popular Agent Astra Yao is also making a return, giving players another chance to add her to their team.

Xbox Launch and Ongoing Labor Dispute

The arrival of ZZZ on Xbox consoles is a significant milestone for the game, expanding its reach to a new player base. The game’s availability on Xbox Cloud Gaming allows for even more accessibility. However, the celebration comes amidst an ongoing labor dispute between HoYoverse and its US-based voice actors. Several voice actors from ZZZ, as well as other HoYoverse titles, have been replaced. Some actors have voiced concerns linking these replacements to their participation in strike action advocating for better protections against the use of generative AI. HoYoverse hasn’t provided detailed responses beyond statements about "recording scheduling arrangements".

Despite this ongoing situation, Version 2.0 offers a substantial amount of new content for players to enjoy, marking a significant step forward for the game.
